Is 2010 Your Turning Point?

2010 A Turning Point

Someone asked me this question the other day. “What are your plans for this next decade in the new millennium? Are you ready for it?”  Made me think.

You are at a turning point right now. And I know you’ve heard this definition of insanity before – doing the same things over and over and expecting different results. If you don’t want the next 10 years to be like the last, then now is the time to do something different.

What would that look like for you?

A new job, a new relationship, maybe you have a passion for helping others. Here’s a few ideas taken from Success Magazine you may consider:

1.  Expand your thinking with new experiences. Jack Canfield recommends that each month for 30 days in a row, commit to doing something new that you have thought about doing but have not done. Notice how it affects your life. For example, do aerobic exercise for 30 minutes, listen to only positive music, don’t read the newspaper, eat more raw food… whatever you decide.

2. Invest in a bright financial future. Open a savings account or put away a portion of your income into the Canadian tax free savings account. Do this daily for a month and get into the habit of building your retirement.

3.  Schedule family time. Maybe it’s playing a game with the kids twice a week or go get ice-cream. Heck, have them join in a shovel the snow activity that includes a fort building at the same time!

4.  Lose Other People’s Opinions! I love this one. Quit worrying about trying to please everyone. Bill Cosby says, “I don’t know the key to success, but I know the key to failure is trying to please everybody!”

What are you ideas?  Add your comments below. I’d love to hear from you.
